kindred << a small but mighty pop up shop

kindred_postcard

hello blog! i'm very excited to be a part of kindred this holiday season. kindred is a pop-up shop that will take place at san francisco's amazing makeshift society. a dozen or so makers and designers are participating, each of which has something i need to add to my christmas list! kindred is a collaboration between lynn of satsuma press and teresa of stone & honey - both incredible talents i had the pleasure of meeting at feliz sale a few weeks ago. the show is december 15th from 11 to 7 and december 16th from 11 to 5. you can learn about all of the designers and makers on the kindred website.

in living in a brooklyn winter news, i managed to purchase sweaters this weekend and will be on the look out for some good rain/snow boots this week. if any of you northerners (ie. people made for cold weather) have any tips to send my way i'd greatly appreciate it! even my very scottish husband is having a hard time with the transition after 4 years in texas.

Hi Leah,

I've been following your blog and your work for a while now (don't remember how I stumbled upon your work... but I loved it when I saw it and subscribed to your blog at that point! :) ). To answer your question about good boots for northeast winters (I'm up in Boston), I totally and wholeheartedly recommend BOGS. They keep you warm and they're completely waterproof (unlike the ones that crack at the edges and end up doing the opposite of what rain boots should do!). They can be pretty expensive, but I found mine on Amazon for $30. And I promise, I'm not being paid by anyone to say all this! I like my own boots a lot (after I did a bunch of online research), and I've even convinced several of my coworkers to get BOGS, and they're very happy with them too!

Good luck, and I hope you weren't in one of the water-logged areas of Brooklyn when Sandy came 'round. Have the happiest of Thanksgivings! :)

Hi Serena,

Thank you so very much! I've given their site a look and have 3 pairs picked out - 2 for me and 1 for the hub. I'll let you know how they go! I'll be thanking you when I'm walking less awkwardly through the snow to the studio. : )

Also, our area was very lucky with Sandy, thanks for thinking about us!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Leah
